Timber Sale Preparation and Administration
This workshop is designed to equip foresters with strategies to communicate silvicultural objectives effectively to loggers and put together sales that are marketable and meet silvicultural objectives. Throughout the day we'll have a mix of indoor and field sessions that come at the timber sale process from multiple different angles.

- 9:15am: MN DNR Utilization and Marketing perspective
- 9:45am: Break
- 10:00am: Broader DNR trends in sales that didn’t sell
- 10:20am: Small group work and reporting out - What are additional issues associated with selling tracts? What do foresters wish loggers knew? What do loggers wish foresters knew? What are some sticking points and potential solutions?
- 11:45pm: Lunch
- 12:30pm: Field site visit - demo site
- 1:45pm: Field site visit - Sale that didn’t sell
- 3:00pm: Adjourn
Cost: This event is open to all interested learners. $75 for members, $140 for non members, $40 for students. Logger member fees are paid directly by MLEP for MLEP members. Foresters and non-loggers should register directly with SFEC.
